Drainage Solutions

Drain Pipe Extension

We only recommend Schedule 40 PVC Pipe for Drain Pipe Solutions. The other choice is a plastic corrugated pipe that is not very sturdy. It crushes and clogs easily. Schedule 40 PVC is extremely durable; it is a permanent solution, not a short term fix.

Drainage Swales

A swale is created by regrading an area to divert water to a specific place. Depending on the shape and size of the swale, it can be turf or covered with heavy duty landscape fabric with stones above.

French Drains

A French Drain is a trench or excavated area covered with gravel or rock that redirects surface and groundwater away from an area. A French drain may have perforated hollow pipes along the bottom to quickly vent water that seeps down through the upper gravel or rock. French drains are common drainage systems, primarily used to prevent ground and surface water from penetrating or damaging building foundations. French drains are also used behind retaining walls to relieve ground water pressure.
