Description: An exciting brand new introduction, this is one of the best new plants we have found. A dwarf, pure white conefower with a dark center and slightly recurved petals, it bloomed for us from early summer until hard frost. Far superior to earlier varieties, 'Avalanche' is a heavy repeat bloomer, and flowers on sturdy upright stems. Wonderful combined with 'Kim's Knee High Purple Coneflower', they have a similar height and look great intermixed. Plants thrive in average soils amd hot, dry conditions; they also shrug off winter cold. The cone at the heart of the flower turns black as the seeds mature, adding further interest and providing nourishment for goldfinches. All Echinaceas make excellent cut flowers.
