Japanese White Pine
Botanical Name: Pinus parviflora 'Glauca'
Category: Evergreen Trees
Height: 20-60' +; variable
Spread: 25-40' +; variable
Exposure: Sun
Care: None
Deer Resistant: Y (Extremely)
Description: Its twisted branches and bluish foliage provide interesting shapes and color all year round. Scaly, brown bark adds an additional texture to the garden. This tree is slow growing and height and spread can vary. Pinus parviflora 'Glauca' has the presence to stand alone as a specimen tree and is likely to stand out in the landscape because its shape differs from the symmetry normally associated with pines. The twisted branches bring a sense of age to the tree, even when young. Produces attractive pine cones.
